They will also need to explain how the proposed solution will address the selected human health impact as exacerbated by climate change.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Examples of areas we are interested in funding are innovations that:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Increase nutrition or water security<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">o Such as interventions that ensure the affordability of healthy diets or protect<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">nutritious food supplies<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">o This could also include the community-level water management<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">interventions that improve stable access to safe water<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Address mental &amp; psychological health challenges resulting from or amplified by<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">climate-related displacement and migration<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Reduce the impact of poor air quality on health<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Reduce the impact of heat stress on health<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Address vector-, water- and food-borne disease threats<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">o Specifically, threats that are moving into new populations and\/or<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">geographies due to climatic variability and change<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Develop or adapt monitoring, modelling and forecasting solutions<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Where possible, all innovations should seek to build the resilience and response capacity<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">of the communities and systems they are intervening within (healthcare, food &amp; nutrition,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">water &amp; sanitation, etc.)<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><em><em><strong>More on:<\/strong><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mod-reset\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandchallenges.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Stars-R12_RFP_FINAL-ENG-Oct25.pdf\">https:\/\/www.grandchallenges.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Stars-R12_RFP_FINAL-ENG-Oct25.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Funding opportunities to support your bold idea Grand Challenges Canada seeks bold ideas from the best and brightest innovators to save and improve lives in low- and middle-income countries and Canada.
